This study paid attention to the possibility that one athlete could make a difference in the whole sport culture. This study identified former major leaguer Shin-Soo Choo as that one athlete and considered how his sayings and doings around his returning to domestic stage influenced on Korean professional baseball and sport culture. First, he made a present in token of his gratitude to a junior colleague who gave away his uniform number with pleasure, and it would show promise of change that the hierarchy in our sport culture could be changed into equal colleague relationship. Second, he has delivered his experience and handy tips to his junior colleagues by constant conversation, and it showed that coaching through conversation rather than instruction could be possible and even effective. Third, he emphasized the sustainable growth of professional baseball by promoting and executing various corporate philanthropic activities, and it would be a model of a professional player who paid attention to social responsibility.
